'Our whole experience of commissioning a mural from Michael Potter was pleasant. He took great trouble to explore a number of ideas with us, using sketches and a model of the room. He was very sensitive to the atmosphere of the surrounding countryside, Muchelney Abbey and its history. Michael worked hard with us and was imaginative in translating and matching our wishes, with his own excellent advice and artistic interpretation. We greatly enjoyed seeing the mural built up day by day. Having Michael to stay with us in our home during this time was a real pleasure. He made a careful and detailed assessment of local colours and matching of faux stone finishes to the existing stone. The perspective effect is remarkable and Michael showed great skill, in the finished mural, in executing a traditional classical design.'
